RCABC Canoe Festival - 2025

On The Water at KawkawaThe annual Canoe Festival in Hope BC is our celebration of everything canoeing. This year's dates are April 25-27, 2025. Our members from across the province gather to put on paddling clinics, slide shows, nature paddles, back country camping seminars, and a fun race! Many of BC's top canoe instructors are in attendance offering fabulous clinics on a variety of canoeing disciplines often including, solo and tandem, marathon, voyageur, poling, play-boating, sup, sailing, and more! This year's event event is again hosted at Camp Kawkawa and includes food and accommodation with options for tenting or staying in a cabin. This event fully organized and staffed by volunteers, and is run at cost by the association. And, with subsidized tickets for youth and students this is a heck of a good deal! There are workshops for kids and adults and anyone is welcome regardless of your skill set'. We hope to see you at the canoe festival this year!  If you are coming you will need to register online with the form below.

This year's registration form is available NOW and is open through April 4, 2025. If you have already registered, check your email for a copy of this year's workshop schedule. You'll be able to sign up in person on arrival Friday afternoon.

Kit List:

General

  • Clothing and footwear appropriate to the activities you plan to participate in

  • Toiletries/towels

  • Medications, glasses/contact lenses

  • Flashlight or headlamp

  • Camera (optional, suggested for guided walks and other activities)

  • Yoga mat (if attending any stretching sessions, etc.)

 

Boats and gear

If you can bring a canoe and your own gear, please do!  If you don't have your own, or can't make travel arrangements for it, there will be a limited number of donated boats available for use.  See Boats for more info.  There will also be a limited number of PFDs and paddles for participants to borrow.

  • Canoe (optional)

  • Cable & lock (if you wish to lock your boat at night)

  • PFD

  • Paddle(s)

  • Wet suit or dry suit is highly recommended if you plan on attending a rescue or SUP clinic. 

 

Accommodation

  • Cabin Dwellers - Bedding (pillow, sleeping bag or sheets and blankets)

  • Tent Folks - Tent or camper/RV and appropriately warm sleeping bag/bedding

 

Other

There will be space at the registration area to share information about you or your courses, businesses, etc.  We will have several binders and a hole-punch for collecting loose sheets, and you are welcome to bring pamphlets and business cards as well.  Some appropriate materials would include:

  • Course listings (canoeing and related)

  • Club information and materials

  • Advertisements for paddling and outdoor related businesses

  • Environmental information (green businesses, issues)

  • Event notices
