safety tip
Enter Low
The lower your center of gravity, the more stable your canoe becomes. When you enter, exit, or change positions, always stay low and proceed with one hand on each gunwale.

Chilliwack Hazardous Debris Removed
Thanks to everyone that was involved in the removal of the rebar debris on the Chilliwack. The Beaver Canoe Club noticed it during a club trip and notified DFO and Navigable Waters Division of Dept of Transport. Both agencies treated the debris as a safety
concern for recreational paddlers and responded quickly to have it removed. Thanks to everyone that played a role in keeping artificial debris out of our rivers!

Upper Seymour Access for RCABC Members
RCABC members wishing to use their membership to access the Lower Seymour Conservation Reserve to paddle the "Upper Seymour", you must enable your name to be displayed on the Instructor's list on this website.
You can do this when you fill out your membership application form, or you can login to your information on the website and change it electronically. The gate keepers will check this website's "Find and Instructor" list when you arrive.

Mamquam River Access
Many clubs, instructors and individuals use the Mamquam River for canoeing and kayaking. The access to the most popular spot has been difficult due to bad road conditions among other concerns.
A local paddler has begun a drive to raise funds to repair the road and arrange access for paddlers through the locked gate. For more details see the document linked below, or contact John by email.
